I’m Excited About Wrapping Up This Semester of University

While it seemed like it was never going to get here, the end of this university semester is not far away at all. The crazy thing about realizing that this semester is winding down to end is knowing that once it does, I will have six semesters successfully completed, which means that I will be over halfway done with my time at university. Once this semester does completely come to an end, I will be returning back to live with my parents in their home for the summer. The great thing about going home to live with your parents for the summer is that you get to slack off and have them do laundry for you once again (instead of worrying about it yourself).

The only thing standing in between me and my time back home is the final examinations that so many people dread. Even though I was very worried about my final examinations last semester (for the record, I ended up doing well), I am really confident that I’m not going to encounter any problems during the ones at the end of this semester. Since I am so confident, I have already set up a summer reward for myself to celebrate my success this semester. Once I move back home to Birmingham, I am taking an old friend with me and we are picking up a Birmingham car hire I reserved. We are picking up the Birmingham car hire, and then using it to take a week long road trip. The great thing about my friend is that although we go to different universities, as soon as we see each other, we pick up like we never left off, which is why this road trip will be so much fun.

I Am Definitely Visiting Birmingham this Summer

Since it has been the main focus of bloggers, newspapers and the television media for the last month or so, you have undoubtedly heard about the swine flu virus that began in Mexico and is spreading around the world. Once people started to realize that swine flu was killing people throughout Mexico, they started to get much more worried about the potential implications of this virus spreading. Even though people are still worried about the fact that the H1N1 virus continues to spread, it has not caused the same level of deaths that it did in Mexico anywhere else in the world. I brought this issue up because it is hard for me to figure out why people continue to be extremely worried about swine flu when it is proving to be much less serious than initially believed. Since the panic level of people around the world has failed to decline (although there is every reason for them to worry less), countries are still taking a hard stance on swine flu.

Even though it doesn’t seem like the concerns over the H1N1 virus are going anywhere soon, I am still planning on taking a vacation this summer. Towards the beginning of this year, I planned a summer trip to Birmingham with my friend, and we have been excited about spending a week in Birmingham ever since we booked our reservations. Since I have already taken care of booking my hotel room, Birmingham airport car hire and flight, it would take something much more serious than this current swine flu issue for me to cancel my whole trip. However, because people have a short attention span, I’m guessing that they will have already calmed down by the time my trip actually gets here and I won’t even have to worry about canceling it!
